About > History

Until recently, our property was known as Cooper's Creek Golf Course, which had drawn visitors to this rural farming community since the 1970s. We preserved half of the course when we took over in 2010, but also saw an amazing opportunity to turn the rest of the 535 acres into a hunting retreat.

We have a personal passion for the traditions of bird hunting and for raising the pedigreed German shorthaired pointers that assist us in the field. While hunting game continues to be common in the Carolinas, opportunities to hunt birds such as pheasant and quail with the help of a trained gun dog - as so many generations have done before us - seem to be slipping away. We want to carry on that experience and share it with you. Our ability to do that while also offering fishing, river canoeing and kayaking, all on site, makes Edisto Pines truly unique.
