Bird Hunting

We established Edisto Pines primarily to provide a retreat for bird hunting and to showcase the abilities of our German shorthaired pointers as gun dogs. An experienced guide will accompany you and handle the dogs. We have devoted much of our land here to wildlife habitat and hope you enjoy hunting the fields, clearings and river bottoms. Most of all, we want to share in your excitement when a bird "gets up," a successful shot is fired and the dog retrieves to the master's hand.

The season runs from Nov. 1 - Feb. 28. Morning hunts typically run from 8-11 a.m., and then we break for lunch. Afternoon hunts go from 1-4 p.m. You can hunt with us through the day, or book half-day hunts, which are usually the most popular at the first and last of the season. Our half-day hunters normally hunt in the morning, eat lunch and then enjoy a round of golf or wet a hook in the pond or river.

We only allow two shooters out at a time within a group. You are welcome to hunt with a group of three or four people, but you will have to rotate shooters. Shotguns are available for rent.
