Edisto Pines held a successful spring production sale on April 15, 2017. This sale was the farm’s second production sale and featured many of the farm’s top young E.T. heifer calves along with a select set of bred heifers and females. A number of the bred heifers were bred with the farm’s top herd sire, EXAR Hi-Tech 4769B, which Edisto Pines purchased from Express Ranches.
The addition of Hi-Tech to Edisto Pines elevated the program to a new level. Previously Edisto Pines prioritized selecting females with strong genomic profiles and maternal traits that were adaptable to all regions of the country. During the farm’s search for a herd sire, Hi-Tech met the criteria of a bull that would bring growth, carcass and genetic recognition to Edisto Pines. As one of the breed’s leading $B bulls, his performance and carcass statistics recognize Hi-Tech as a leader in many important traits.
The second annual production sale celebrated Edisto Pines’ focus on growth and expansion of the farm, as well as welcoming Jon Ripstein as Edisto Pines’ new cattle manager.
